Auburn is preparing to give Alabama its best shot in the biggest game of the season.

The 90th edition of the Iron Bowl will be played in four days, and the Auburn Tigers are doing everything possible to put themselves in a position to play spoiler to No. 10 Alabama's playoff chances and earn themselves the right to play in a bowl game.

For interim head coach DJ Durkin and the Tigers, the challenge of ending Alabama's five-game winning streak in the Iron Bowl is one they are glad to take on.

"It’s the greatest rivalry in college football. It’s a game that means a lot to a lot of people down here and certainly to our team and our coaching staff. We had a good practice this morning. We’re already on to that. Preparation has started and we’re looking forward to the challenge and the test."

While Durkin and company are excited to give it everything they have, they understand the challenge in front of them.

Durkin praised Alabama for what it has been able to accomplish this season and the talented group that has made things happen throughout the year.

"They are a really good football team," Durkin said. "They are well-coached in all three phases. They have playmakers in all spots. I think their numbers, their stats, their record all speak to that. They definitely perform at a high level. They’ve played some tough games and played well in those games. We know it’s a great challenge, and we’re looking forward to it.”

Despite not having Demarcus Riddick who is out for the season with an injury, the Tigers head into this matchup healthy. Durkin confirmed Auburn's ideal injury status when addressing the media on Monday afternoon.

“No, no concerns," Durkin said. "We have a couple of guys get banged up, but I think everyone will be good as we go through our usual week right now.”

Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT and ABC will carry the broadcast.
