Auburn still has the same goal in mind despite coaching change.

Despite the Auburn Tigers parting ways with head coach Hugh Freeze, the objective remains the same as they aim to finish the season on a high note.

Auburn has seen no change in its preparation as it heads into another difficult SEC matchup this weekend.

"The energy is still the same," said running back Jeremiah Cobb. "We still have the same mission. So it’s been the same. Heads up and we’re just ready to play football."

The news of the change in leadership was hard for Cobb to here, as he has played for him for multiple seasons now. Despite this, he still has a strong desire to lead the Tigers to a strong finish.

"It was definitely sad," Cobb said. "I’ve been with him for three years. It was sad. I appreciate what Coach (Freeze) did for the program and everything. W’eve still got to finish what we’ve got to finish."

Cobb waited his time at Auburn, sitting behind talented running backs throughout his time with the team.

Now that his number is getting called on a regular basis, he has been working even harder, despite the team struggling to add tallies to the win column this season.

"It’s been very satisfying," Cobb said. "I had to sit back two years and not play the sport that I love so much. Now, I get a chance to go out there and do it. Every snap, I go out there and have fun. It’s been very satisfying."

Cobb is fully confident in Derrick Nix's ability to lead the offense, as he will be the play caller for the rest of the season.

"I’ve got a huge amount of confidence in Coach Nix," Cobb said. "I love the way he goes out here and attacks practice, the meeting and everything. I’m very confident in him and very excited to see what we do."

Cobb and the Tigers will have a chance to get back in the win column by handling business against Vanderbilt on the road. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CT and SEC Network will carry the broadcast.
