While things have not gone according to plan for the Auburn Tigers this season, they are aiming to finish the season on the highest note possible.
Standout defensive lineman Keldric Faulk has experience being a leader through adversity, and he is not shying away from doing so now.
"With the guys we have on staff and the guys we have in this locker room, we have been through so much adversity that I feel like we just take it day-by-day," Faulk said. I’m going to always lead but I don’t feel like I have to be that over-the-top leader and have to have my voice heard every day or every second. My guys know the message. We’re still here to compete. We’re still here to finish the season out strong."
Auburn would love nothing more than to pick up a win over Vanderbilt this weekend and give fans of the Tigers something to cheer for.
Diego Pavis stands in its way of pulling that off, however.
Faulk has plenty of experience taking on Pavia at this point, and he knows what it will take to slow him down.
"The biggest challenge is that when he gets out of the pocket he’s still looking downfield for another throw," Faulk said. "It’s really just going to try to maintain and contain that quarterback. We want to try to keep him inside the pocket and put pressure on as much as we can. Changing the looks up on him every now and then, just make sure he’s uncomfortable sitting in that pocket. That’s a real big thing. They probably have one of the better ground games in the SEC. It’s going to be a challenge stopping the run up front too."
The Tigers will go at it with Vanderbilt at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday. SEC Network will carry the broadcast.
