Auburn's recruiting momentum continued Sunday night with the flip of running back Khamoni Williams from West Virginia. The versatile Tennessee playmaker becomes the 22nd member of the Tigers' 2027 class, giving Alex Golesh and running backs coach Larry Porter another major win on the trail.

The Auburn Tigers have flipped a commitment from another Power Conference team and continue to improve their 2027 class as one of the nation's best.

Late Sunday night, Alex Golesh and his coaching staff picked up the commitment of 3-Star running back Khamoni Williams.

Williams is an offensive playmaker who originally committed to play at West Virginia on June 12, but changed his destination to The Plains after an unannounced official visit. Out of Southwind, Tennessee, Williams is seen as the 36th best running back in the country for this recruiting class and the 24th best player in his state.

At 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds, Williams has shown to be a multi-purpose threat in the backfield. During his junior season, he rushed for 892 yards and 7 touchdowns on only 84 carries, almost 11 yards per carry. He also proved that he can be a trusted asset in the pass game, picking up over 260 yards receiving on 17 catches.

It's another massive win on the recruiting trail for running backs coach Larry Porter, who now has brought in 3 inside his position group for this cycle. Williams joins the group of Myson Johnson-Cook and, for now, Kingston Miles, although it appears Miles will be flipping to another SEC team in Missouri.

Pushing a focus on the running back room seems to be a priority for Alex Golesh and his staff as they look to fill the inevitable hole that mobile quarterback Byrum Brown will create when he leaves the program at the end of the season.

Last season, with Alex Golesh as the head coach of South Florida, his offense recorded 506 rushing attempts, and although Brown had almost 200 of those, 65% of the carries were distributed across 7 different running backs on the roster.

In other words, there are plenty of opportunities for Williams to get playing time early in this system.

Williams becomes the Tigers 22nd player to join Auburn's 2027 class. He joins QB Gary Chatman, RB Myson Johnson-Cook, RB Kingston Miles, WR Brylan Oduor, TE George Lamons, OT Layton Von Brandt, OT Rance Brown, IOL Jaylon Moore, IOL Reed Ramsier, DL Donivan Moore, ED Rion Jackson, ED James Pace III, LB Kareem Palmer, LB Isaac McNeil, CB Nash Johnson III, CB Aidyn Wiggins, S Chance Gilbert, S Knyair Crumb, ATH Preston Williams, and K Noah Ash.

According to 247Sports, the Tigers are now the 9th best recruiting class in the country for the 2027 cycle.
