Auburn added another versatile piece to its rising 2027 recruiting class with the commitment of athlete Preston Williams. The lifelong Tigers fan can play multiple positions and becomes the 21st member of a class that now ranks among the nation's top 10 according to 247Sports.

The Auburn Tigers picked up another promising player in the 2027 recruiting cycle Sunday evening.

Alex Golesh and his staff worked hard throughout one of the final official visit weekends of the year to pick up the recruitment of 3-Star Athlete Preston Williams. Williams, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect from George W. Long High School in Skipperville, Alabama, may be one of the most unique players in the class for this new coaching staff, mainly due to his versatility.

Although some recruiting sites list him as a Safety, Williams can play both sides of the football. In fact, the in-state prospect has played all over the field during his high school career and projects as one of the more flexible athletes in Auburn's class.

One of the special parts of his commitment is that he is a lifelong Tigers fan and will be able to live out a dream on the field beginning next season. "I like the culture. I grew up an Auburn fan. I came to the Cal game two years ago," said Williams. "I know they didn't perform well, but the crowd was loud. I was like, 'Who wouldn't want to play in a stadium like this?"
