Auburn added another major piece to its 2027 recruiting class as three-star offensive tackle Rance Brown committed to the Tigers over SEC rival Kentucky. The Alabama native becomes Auburn’s third offensive line pledge in the class as Alex Golesh continues building momentum on the recruiting trail.

The Auburn Tigers added another impressive piece to their upcoming recruiting class.

On Monday, three-star offensive tackle Rance Brown announced that he will be committed as a member of the Tigers' 2027 class.

Brown, who will play this upcoming season at Brentwood Academy in Tennessee, is another big-time addition to Alex Golesh's 2027 recruiting class. He's listed at 6'6  ", 290 pounds, and is ranked as the 83rd best offensive tackle in the country, including the 40th overall recruit in the state of Tennessee.

Brown had his decision down to two programs, and Auburn beat out SEC rival Kentucky for his commitment. Brown has received over 20 scholarship offers, including some impressive ones from big-time programs such as North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Duke, Stanford, Maryland, and Arizona.

This recruitment carries a ton of weight after beating Kentucky, as first-year head coach Wil Stein is putting in quite an impressive effort to add to his 2027 class. Having Golesh outdo him is a nice taste of what's to come for the entirety of his tenure on the plains.

The high school recruit is originally from Alabama, and it's one thing that could help him sign with the Tigers. "Just growing up in Alabama, nothing would mean more than to play at a place that truly values in-state prospects like Auburn. Just being able to represent my last name in my home state would mean so much to my family and me," said Brown when discussing his finalists with 247 Sports.

Andrew Ivins, the director of scouting at 247 Sports, believes that Brown is "tall and aggressive, who can create consistent push on Friday nights." With some development inside an SEC program, that could easily translate to Saturdays as well.

Following Brown's commitment to the Tigers, he is the ninth player added to the 2027 class, and the third offensive lineman to join Alex Golesh and offensive line coach Tyler Hudanick, following recent four-star addition Layton von Brandt and three-star guard Jaylon Moore.
