Another Auburn commitment appears to be on the horizon. After Alex Golesh's latest recruiting "bat signal" on social media, all signs point toward the Tigers adding another piece to their already red-hot 2027 class as momentum on the recruiting trail continues to build.
A new Auburn Tigers commit is on the way.
Late on Friday night, Tigers head coach dropped his “bat signal” on social media with his authentic eagle emoji, prompting another player to commit to the 2027 class.
Auburn, who had lost the recruiting battle to Texas for 4-Star safety Junior Tu’upo on Friday, the signal from Golesh once again shows they are keeping on task, even when they don’t win the recruiting battles.
On July 1st, two players who have listed Auburn as a finalist will make their decision. The tweet from Golesh could confirm one of those two recruits. A win for either of the blue chip players committing on Wednesday would certainly put Auburn as a contender for a top 5 class in the country.
4-Star Athlete Tae Walden, the 67th-best player in the country, is down to 5 teams, which include the Tigers, as well as 5-Star cornerback Joshua Dobson, who will also decide if The Plains is the right spot for him during Rivals Summer Signing Day on July 1st
The cryptic social media post was also created by defensive line coach Vontrell King-Williams, leading one to think it could be a player in the trenches under his position group.
A few players come to mind who are still weighing the decision to play at Auburn. Karlos May, a 4-star out of Birmingham, Alabama, seems to be down to Auburn, Ohio State, and Georgia for his decision. What was once scheduled for August has been moved up to July 18th. Although it is much closer than originally planned, the tweet is likely not for him yet.
The most likely player to be heading to the Tigers next is defensive lineman Marquis “MJ” Evans. He recently told 247Sports that he is committed on July 1st as well, which could be a huge day for Alex Golesh, DJ Durkin, and the rest of the defensive staff. Evans is considered the 10th best player in the state of Alabama and 24th best defensive lineman in the country.
Although Evans has narrowed his final list to 5 teams, including Tennessee, Miami, Florida, South Carolina, and Auburn, the Tigers should feel confident about his decision heading into Wednesday.
