Auburn's recruiting momentum reached another level Tuesday as four-star wide receiver Deshawn Hall committed to the Tigers. The in-state playmaker gives Alex Golesh another elite offensive weapon and helps push Auburn's 2027 class into the nation's top eight rankings.
The Auburn Tigers are on a roll.
It was a big day for Alex Golesh and his staff as two major offensive pieces committed to Auburn inside the 2027 recruiting class.
First, 4-star wide receiver Deshawn Hall made his decision early Tuesday morning and chose the Tigers over his other finalist, Penn State.
Coming from in-state at Prattville, Alabama, Hall is an elite talent who could completely change the perception of a program's recruiting class, even one as impressive as Auburn's this season.
According to 247Sports, the Prattsville receiver is seen as the 7th best player in the state of Alabama and the 20th best WR in the country. In 2025, he recorded 660 yards on 40 catches and picked up 5 receiving touchdowns in the process. He is a multi-sport athlete who also plays basketball, receiving offers from multiple D1 programs.
According to TJ Randall, 247Sports Analyst, Hall is a "Slender basketball-football crossover possessing exciting athletic traits and room for both physical and positional-skill improvement." Randal also describes him as a "Springy leaper whose experience attacking rebounds on the court translates to success when playing throws at their highest points."
Hall becomes the Tigers 23rd player to join Auburn's 2027 class. He joins QB Gary Chatman, RB Myson Johnson-Cook, RB Khamoni Williams, WR Brylan Oduor, TE George Lamons, OT Layton Von Brandt, OT Rance Brown, IOL Jaylon Moore, IOL Reed Ramsier, DL Donivan Moore, ED Rion Jackson, ED James Pace III, LB Kareem Palmer, LB Isaac McNeil, CB Nash Johnson III, CB Aidyn Wiggins, S Chance Gilbert, S Knyair Crumb, S Nasir Banks, ATH Preston Williams, and K Noah Ash.
With the activity on Tuesday and multiple commitments to the Tigers, Auburn is now the 8th best recruiting class in the country for the 2027 cycle. According to 247Sports, they passed SEC Rival Florida and are continuing to gain momentum in the very first offseason for this new coaching staff.
