The first Big Cat Weekend of the Alex Golesh era is closing in.
Auburn is about to experience the first Big Cat Weekend of the Alex Golesh era. As names continue to be added to the list of expected visitors, there are a hadnful of names that I'm starting to really key in on.
While the nature of Big Cat is different than it used to be due to timing changes and a shift from July to May, it's still an important day for Auburn's offseason as it sets the tone fbefore official visits get going in the coming weeks.
Here are three names from expected visitors to pay attention to.
Karlos May, Defensive Lineman, Ramsay
One of the best players in the state of Alabama is expected to be on campus this weekend. His 6-foot-3, 300-pound frame is eye catching and when you turn on the tape and see how he moves, it's easy to see how he could translate to the SEC.
Rance Brown, Offensive Lineman, Brentwood
I think the 3-star offensive lineman from Tennessee is undervalued. Brown moves bodies, viloent at the point of attack, and his 6-foot-6, 290-pound frame has room for growth.
Nash Johnson III, Cornerback, McEachrn
If you know me, I can't make a list of players without throwing in a cornerback. The former Alabama commit does a great job of using his ability to stay in the hop pocket of opposing wide receivers to force oppoing quarterbacks to fit passes into a small window. Auburn's track record with corners is solid. I think Johnson is a name to watch.
Auburn will be looking to add more names to the 2027 class over the coming weeks. Golesh currently has six players committed to the Tigers. The latest addition was from Gary Chatman Jr., who is expected to be on campus this weekend. Auburn's class is ranked as the 39th class in the 2027 rankings according to 247Sports.
