Four-star offensive tackle Layton von Brandt is set to announce his commitment Monday, with Auburn making the final cut alongside Notre Dame, Florida, and Penn State. The elite 2027 prospect ranks among the top offensive linemen in the nation as the Tigers continue pushing for major recruiting wins

The Auburn Tigers remain in the mix for top prospects in the 2027 recruiting class, and one is nearing a decision. Rivals Hayes Fawcett announced that Four-Star OT Layton von Brandt will announce his commitment on Monday and has narrowed down his decision to four programs.

The Middletown, Delaware offensive tackle will choose between Florida, Penn State, Notre Dame, and the Auburn Tigers. According to Rivals, he is ranked as the top 5 offensive tackle inside the entire 2027 class.

Layton von Brandt originally planned to make his decision on July 1st after official visits, but has moved it up by six weeks.

This recruitment already has an interesting history, as Brandt was previously committed to Penn State until this past October. He decommitted after the program moved on from head coach James Franklin midway through last season.

He is currently being recruited by Auburn’s Offensive line coach, Tyler Hudanick.

He has an official visit to the Plains scheduled for June 12th. He was not one of the approximately 25 prospects to visit the Tigers during Big Cat this weekend on Saturday.

According to Rivals Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power, he believes von Brant ”stacks up pretty well in the 2027 OL group. He’s got good length, and I think he’s got a lot of room to continue filling out. I really liked his movement skills at the position. I thought he was nimble, fluid, and looked pretty athletic. So, when you’re looking at him long-term, I like where he stacks up.”

Notre Dame is believed to be the favorite for the decision; however, the Fighting Irish's 2027 class already features multiple commitments at that position. Although it seems unlikely von Brandt will choose Auburn as his next destination, surprises have definitely happened before. The decision will be broadcast live on the Rivals YouTube channel on Monday, May 18th.
