Auburn football has found some late momentum entering Big Cat Weekend.

Auburn's 2027 recruiting class is starting to build now that Spring is behind us. Since Auburn's A-Day game, Alex Golesh and his staff have generated some buzz and commitments from several solid players who are expected to be key faces of this class.

Auburn's 2027 class currently has six players with their pledge too the program. It ranks 29th on 247 Sports' class rankings. Rivals ranks Auburn's class as the 25th best class in the country.

Quarterback Gary Chatman Jr. from Snellville, Georgia was committed to Wake Forest just a few weeks ago. After missing out on several big names, Golesh and his staff pivoted to Chatman Jr., a three-star, that many expect to see rise in the rankings over the next few months.

Myson Johnson-Cook, the running back from East St. Louis, Illinois, is seen as one of the best running backs in the class. He's not expected to attend Big Cat Weekend.

Brylan Oduor, the 4-star wide receiver from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, has elite speed. Also a track athlete, expect him to be a fit in the Golesh system out wide.

George Lamons Jr., the 4-star tight end from Quitman, Georgia, committed to the Auburn Tigers right after Auburn's A-Day game. His tape shows solid length and athleticism and is expected to be a receiving tight end for Auburn.

Jaylon Moore, the 3-star offensive lineman, is an intriguing prospect. He plays tackle at Creekside in Fairburn, Georgia, but projects to be an interior lineman at the next level by most. His 6-foot-4, 290-pound frame has room to add more size, but he clearly shows a willingness to be aggressive at the line of scrimmage.

Donivan Moore, the 4-star defensive lineman from Bessemer, Alabama, is one of the best players in the state. his ability to play at different spots on the defensive line presents a ton of opportunity for him to see the field early at the next level. At 6-foot-4, 280-pounds, Moore has a great frame and possesses the strength and ability to translate to the SEC.

Alex Golesh and his staff will host several key players this weekend in hopes of adding to the 2027 class. While Big Cat Weekend is known and remembered at Auburn for key commitments and flips from top athletes and targets over the years, the need to move it to a weekend in May due to a change in the calendar does likely change the ability for it to be a weekend loaded with commits.

With coaches not able to have players on campus in July, it now takes place shortly before most players have lined up official visits over the coming weeks. It will be interesting to see what this staff's strategy is for the weekend. I personally do not see this staff pushing for commitments yet. I think they will focus on continuing to build relationships and then make the strong push when they host most of these visitors again, once they are on campus in a few weeks on official visits.
