
The Auburn Tigers have dropped four games in a row, and that is a trend that desperately needs to come to an end on Wednesday night.
Auburn has another road game, this time against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and when the final buzzer sounds inside Starkville's Humphrey Coliseum on Wednesday night, the Tigers need to have a higher number of points on the scoreboard than the Bulldogs.
Auburn has not finished a game in the win column since beating Texas 88-82 at home on Jan. 28. At that point, the Tigers were seven games above .500 overall and two games above .500 in SEC play.
Now Auburn hovers just three games above .500 overall and has fallen to two games below .500 in conference play.
Once Auburn's meeting with the Bulldogs is in the rearview mirror, it will have a game against Kentucky at home on Saturday, Feb. 21. While the Wildcats are not at their usual level this season, they are still not a team Auburn can afford to take lightly.
After that, Auburn has a road game against Oklahoma, taking on a quality opponent in front of a hostile crowd on Feb. 24.
Two home matches against Ole Miss on Feb, 28 and LSU on March 3 follow that, providing Auburn with two more can't-miss opportunities to add some tallies to the win column.
The Tigers round out the regular season slate on the road against No. 25 Alabama on March 7. That game will give them an opportunity for revenge and a chance to boost their tournament resume, but it will be tough.
Auburn has a bumpy ride to the finish of the regular season, and finding a way to make the most of it and win as many games as possible starts in Starkville on Wednesday night.
