Four-star Alabama defensive lineman Karlos May will announce his college decision Saturday, with Auburn battling Georgia, Ohio State, and Florida State. While the Tigers may trail entering decision day, DJ Durkin could still remain in the mix for a future flip.

Another big decision is set to be announced for a potential future Auburn Tiger.

On Saturday, defensive lineman Karlos May will decide between 4 schools, including Auburn. He will choose where to play his collegiate football beginning in 2027 among Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, and the Tigers.

However, it is not looking too good for Alex Golesh and DJ Durkin.

What was once one of Auburn's top recruiting targets, the Tigers no longer appear to hold the momentum they once had. Auburn was viewed as the team to beat for much of the spring, but Georgia has since regained the edge. At the same time, Ohio State has generated significant buzz following May's official visit.

Before the big surge from Golesh beginning in late May, picturing a class without May might have seemed devastating, however that is no longer the case. Although it would certainly be a win if he were to choose Auburn, DJ Durkin and Vontrell King-Williams have built a strong defensive front inside this class with players such as Donivan Moore, Nate Kamba, James Pace, Rion Jackson, and most recently Marquis' MJ' Evans.

Adding May, who is considered a high 4-star defender and the 5th best player in Alabama, would certainly add more value to the class. He could also join Evans, another Birmingham player on the roster.

May is certainly using NIL opportunities as a major role for his final decision. He initially named Georgia his leader, later suggested the race was even after his official visit to Auburn, and shortly afterward reiterated that the Bulldogs were back on top. With Ohio State also firmly in the mix, this recruitment remains highly fluid heading into his July 18 commitment date.

While NIL and rev share seem to be a big factor in this recruitment, even if he doesn't choose Auburn initially, a flip in the future seems possible.

May is currently seen as a 4-star recruit by 247Sports and after the recent recruiting rankings update, he is now the 120th-ranked player nationally and the 11th-best defensive lineman in the country for the 2027 cycle.

Karlos May will officially announce his decision Saturday at 3 p.m. ET
