Chas Nimrod is beginning to receive national attention after On3 named the Auburn receiver among its 20 under-the-radar players from fall camp. After leading USF in receiving before his injury last season, Nimrod has continued to impress Alex Golesh and Auburn's staff and could emerge as WR1 in 2026

People outside of the Auburn Tigers are starting to learn about Chas Nimrod.

Earlier this week, On3 released its 20 under-the-radar players from fall camp, and Nimrod made the list.

According to Pete Nakos  Nimrod is "Not the most heralded transfer in the Tigers' portal class, Auburn is expecting big things for Nimrod's return to the SEC. A former Tennessee and USF transfer, Nimrod has shown off his speed and understanding of Auburn's offense to date in fall camp. He has 52 career catches for 781 yards. A source told On3 that Nimrod has "huge upside" and confidence because he has "produced in this league."

This is certainly correct, but it is missing some big data points as well.

Nimrod is certainly heralded as one of the top transfers in Auburn's portal class. In fact, before his injury at South Florida last season, he led the team in receiving and was seen as the true number one, potentially over Keshaun Singleton.

And that could happen again in 2026 on the Plains.

After Auburn's second scrimmage on Wednesday, Tigers head coach Alex Golesh spotlighted Nimrod as one of the players who stuck out and considered him a top performer. This is far from the first time he has been spotlighted in such a positive light during fall camp.

In fact, in the first media availability before fall camp began, offensive coordinator Joel Gordon spoke very highly of Nimrod. "The first guy that stands out is Chas," Gordon said about South Florida transfer Chas Nimrod. "He's the most experienced guy in the room. He's one of the most physically gifted guys in the room. He's one of the smartest guys in the room."

Auburn certainly has a deep wide receiver room, but it is led by Nimrod and Singleton, to the point where both players have a strong chance of reaching 1,000 receiving yards this season.

The hype surrounding Nimrod certainly won't bother the veteran wide receiver, as it's something he hasn't been worried about since arriving at Auburn. "It's cool that they say that, but me personally, I don't like to hear that kind of stuff," Nimrod said. "I like to just stay hungry, unsatisfied."

With just over two weeks to go until Auburn kicks off Week 1 in Atlanta against the Baylor Bears, there will continue to be questions surrounding what type of role Chaz Nimrod will have for the team. With a deep wide receiver room and multiple players moving up from the group of six to the SEC, including Nimrod, many questions surround whether they can handle the talent. However, one thing is clear: Nimrod certainly can, and this offense should be one of the best under Alex Golesh in his first season on the Plains.
