After rewriting the NFL record books, the versatile utility star bids farewell to the Big Easy, sparking speculation of a high-stakes reunion with Sean Payton in Denver.

Taysom Hill is looking for a new NFL home.

The dynamic hybrid QB and receiver announced Thursday night he won't return to the New Orleans Saints. While Hill's future is uncertain, he penned a farewell message to the Big Easy.

“For the last nine years, New Orleans has been so much more than the city where I played,” Hill said in a statement. “It’s where my family built a life, where our oldest son was born, and where we formed relationships and made memories that will stay with us forever.

“I’ve taken time this offseason to think carefully about what comes next for my family and me. I still don’t have a clear answer about what the future holds, but I know that returning to New Orleans is not in the cards."

After his standout career at BYU, Hill made his name in the NFL as a utility player starting under Sean Payton. He set two NFL records in New Orleans. He had the most single-season touchdowns without a turnover by a quarterback with seven in 2019. Last season, Hill became the only player with 1,000 receiving, passing and rushing yards during the Super Bowl era.

What's next for Hill's career? The 35-year-old still has some gas in the tank and could move closer to Provo. Payton has been reunited with many of his former Saints players in Denver.

After five seasons under the longtime head coach in New Orleans, could the Broncos be calling for Hill's services? Former Denver Broncos defensive back and Roundtable Sports contributor Nick Ferguson wants Hill in Denver to "flex" him out.

"Don't forget the Broncos brought in Mercedes Lewis last year," Ferguson said. "I think Taysom Hill would be an excellent upgrade to the Broncos' tight ends. Here's why. Because you already have a guy like Jaylen Waddle, who we expect so much out of this season. If you were to add him with Evan Engram, that's ideal knowing Engram isn't known to be a blocker. So flex him out and allow Hill to be that blocking tight end."

Anything is possible with Payton calling the shots in Denver. Given how last season ended with Bo Nix's injury right before the AFC Championship game, the Broncos can afford to add another quarterback to the roster as an emergency fill-in. That's what Hill would bring in any situation.

Hill has filled his NFL career with production at three different positions. He has 2,426 passing yards, 2,551 rushing yards, 1,034 receiving yards and 45 total touchdowns. Not an easy feat as a reserve in the league.

If Denver is the next stop for Hill, the veteran would be closer to home on an AFC contender.
