Clemson Lands Tantalizing Weapon in National Signing Day Coup cover image

The Clemson Tigers should have plenty of weapons next season.

The Clemson Tigers definitely scored big with one of their additions on early national signing day, bagging four-star wide receiver Naeem Burroughs.

Burroughs picked Clemson over a plethora of big schools, with Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee and Texas among them.

The Jacksonville, Fl. product is the eighth-ranked receiver in the 2026 class and the 61st-ranked player overall, so the Tigers absolutely landed a heck of a player here.

Yes, Clemson will be losing Antonio Williams to the NFL Draft, but nabbing Burroughs to put alongside of T.J. Moore and Bryant Wesco Jr. next season should provide whoever will be playing quarterback for the Tigers with a tantalizing set of weapons.

To say that Burroughs is exciting would be putting it lightly.

The six-foot tall burner is an explosive threat with a knack for making defenders miss in the open field, and given how much Clemson struggled with chunk plays in 2025, that is exactly what the Tigers need.

Clemson was one of the country's most disappointing teams this year, going 7-5 during the regular season. Yes, the Tigers qualified for their 21st straight bowl game, but Clemson doesn't play for bowl eligibility; it plays for national titles.

The past several campaigns, the Tigers have really fallen thanks to some rather poor roster construction by head coach Dabo Swinney, who has largely refused to dip into the transfer portal and has employed rather archaic methods in recruiting.

ESPN has ranked Clemson's 2026 recruiting class the 18th-best nationwide, which really isn't all that great. But Burroughs is a gem who could elevate things by himself.

Of course, we can't get ahead of ourselves here. Burroughs still needs to prove it on the field. But it's hard not to be excited about the pass-catcher, who could ultimately become the Tigers' top weapon by 2027. It also wouldn't be surprising if he makes a real impact as soon as his freshman season.

Now, Clemson must decide who will be under center next fall with Cade Klubnik graduating. Once the Tigers get that settled, it will determine just how pumped we should truly be for 2026.
