At the beginning of the 2025 college football season, Clemson Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik was expected to be a Heisman Trophy front-runner and was viewed as a potential No. 1 pick candidate in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Unfortunately, those hopes were dashed due to a disappointing season from the talented signal caller.
Klubnik ended the regular season completing 66.6 percent of his pass attempts for 2,750 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He also ran for 107 yards and four touchdowns throughout the year.
Obviously, those were not close to the numbers he was expected to produce. Due to the lower production, there are many who believe that he could slip to the middle rounds of the draft.
Keeping that in mind, a new prediction has been made for where Klubnik could end up in the draft. It's not an ideal pick number, but the team he is projected to land with would be a healthy destination for him.
Ian Cummings of Pro Football Network has released a new seven-round mock draft that would see the Clemson quarterback joining the Baltimore Ravens with the No. 251 overall pick in the seventh round.
Needless to say, seeing Klubnik slip all the way to the seventh round would be disappointing. He's more than capable of being a first-round talent. Sadly, a lack of production for an entire season can do this kind of thing to a players draft stock.
Of course, this is only a prediction. There is still a decent chance that a team would see the talent and potential that Klubnik possesses and take him much earlier than the seventh round.
Regardless, all the Tigers' quarterback needs is an opportunity. If he were to land with the Ravens in the seventh round, he would be given a chance to develop under an NFL coaching staff. He would also be able to learn behind superstar signal caller Lamar Jackson.
There are many worse potential destinations that Klubnik could end up in.
It will be interesting to see what the future has in store for the Clemson quarterback. Fans will continue hoping that his potential helps him land much higher than the seventh round.
