A Clemson Tigers recruit has opened up on head coach Dabo Swinney.

Before the Clemson Tigers defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks in their regular-season finale on Saturday, they routed Furman in their final home game the week prior, and among those in attendance for the latter was three-star offensive line recruit Charlie Pisani.

Pisani is fast-rising prospect who just made his first gameday visit to Clemson, and he was very impressed with what he saw from the Tigers and head coach Dabo Swinney.

“The game was kind of a blowout against Furman, but it was fun to see what they do,” Pisani told The Clemson Insider. “We stayed in the locker room after. Got to hear Coach Swinney speak. It was very inspiring to hear what he had to say.”

A class of 2028 recruit, Pisani also understands why Swinney won't be making him — or any other players from his recruiting class — an offer until the summer, at the earliest.

“I think it is great,” Pisani said of the strategy. “In order to have a good program, you got to recruit well, and in order to recruit well, you got to have good recruits. And I think they weed out the good recruits from the bad recruits. I think Clemson does that for a reason. To kind of uphold that image of their program.”

Hailing from Fort Pierce, Fl., Pisani has already received offers from a number of big-name schools such as Florida, Florida State, Louisville, Miami, Ohio State, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

One might assume that Clemson has already fallen behind in its recruitment of Pisani for that reason, but this is a strategy that Swinney has had established for quite some time.

In the meantime, Pisani will wait patiently.

“I have worked very hard to hold myself to a higher standard than everyone else and getting an offer from Clemson would really mean a lot to me,” Pisani added. “That would mean that they see the standard that I hold myself to.”

Pisani added that the Tigers are "definitely up there" in terms of teams he could see himself playing for in the future.

“I love the coaching staff and the program that they have," Pisani said. "Like I said, I hold myself to a high standard and they hold themselves to a high standard. I like how they do that and I like how they are different from everyone else. They are not the same as some of these other programs.”

Clemson finished the regular season 7-5, marking its worst record since Swinney's second year with the program in 2010.

The Tigers are bowl eligible, but given the heavy expectations heading into 2025, this was definitely a disappointing season for Clemson.
