Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods has declared for the NFL Draft and is expected to be a first-round pick.
In PFF's recent mock draft, they have Woods going with the 15th overall pick to the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens would be an interesting landing spot for Woods, as Baltimore's defensive line has struggled this season.
The Ravens have the fourth-worst pressure rate in the league according to Next Gen Stats. Woods could help them in that department, as well as being a quality run stopper.
Baltimore has been a contender in the AFC for years, but may miss the playoffs in 2025. This would allow them to add a highly talented player like Woods in the middle of the first round.
Woods was very productive in the 2024 season, finishing with 28 total tackles, three sacks, and 8.5 tackles for loss. His numbers have regressed in 2025, as he has 30 total tackles, two sacks, and 3.5 tackles for loss.
That has led to a drop in Woods' draft stock. Heading into the 2025 campaign, Woods was discussed as a top-five pick, but he is now expected to go in the teens.
This adds to the Ravens as a potential destination, as they have taken talented players who have dropped in value in years past.
Woods has a ton of potential, and with the right development, he could become a difference-maker at the next level.
For Clemson, they will now look at replacing Woods on their defensive line as they look to turn the program around. The Tigers lost in the first round of the College Football Playoff in 2024 and have followed that up with a disappointing 2025 season.
Clemson went 7-5 and was nowhere close to making it into the College Football Playoff. Head coach Dabo Swinney will need to do a great job recruiting to replace Woods and improve the roster as a whole.
Woods is one of the most talented players in the draft and could be an impactful addition for a team like the Ravens, while Clemson will miss his presence on their defense next season.
