The Clemson Tigers will face off against a Big Ten program in their bowl game to end the year.
Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers have now found out who they're going to play and which bowl game they're going to play them in to close out a disappointing 2025 college football season.
Clemson will be headed to the Pinstripe Bowl and the opponent will be the Big Ten's Penn State Nittany Lions.
Just like the Tigers, Penn State has had a very disappointing season. Neither program lived up to the hype that surrounded them at the beginning of the year. Both will be looking to end their respective seasons on a positive note.
The game between Clemson and the Nittany Lions will be played on December 27.
Granted, this is a far drop from where the Tigers expected to be when the season began. They were widely projected to be a top-tier national championship contender. That wasn't in the cards for Clemson.
After falling to the LSU Tigers in the season opener, things never got back on track. Swinney and company finished the regular season with a 7-5 record. Fans have been frustrated all year long and that disappointment will carry into the offseason.
Heading into the offseason, there will be many questions for Clemson to answer. First and foremost, who will replace Cade Klubnik? Also, is Swinney the right man to help turn the Tigers back into a national championship contender?
Before all of those questions arrive, Clemson has a bowl game to win. Even though Penn State did not live up to the hype this season and decided to fire head coach James Franklin in the middle of the year, the Nittany Lions will be a formidable opponent. Both squads have a lot of pride to play for in the Pinstripe Bowl.
Hopefully, the Tigers are the team that can pull off a bowl win and head into the offseason on a high note. A long battle is ahead for Clemson to fix the issues that plagued the program in 2025.
Swinney is one of the best head coaches in college football. If there is a head coach who can have the Tigers back on track by next season, it would be him.
That being said, there is now just one game remaining before facing the uncertain future. It will be interesting to see if Clemson can band together and defeat Penn State on December 27.
