The Clemson Tigers desperately need to start dipping into the transfer portal, something Dabo Swinney really has not done as head coach.
After Clemson posted its worst season in 15 years with a 7-6 record this year, Swinney may be left with no choice but to start utilizing the portal this winter.
While the Tigers haven't struck just yet, they are definitely making their rounds and have already set a visit with former Kansas Jayhawks safety Lyrik Rawls.
Not only that, but Clemson has also been in contact with Bowling Green linebacker Gideon Lampron, via Jason Priester of The Clemson Insider.
Lampron is a highly-coveted player in the portal and has already received offers from Colorado, Louisville, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, UCF and Virginia.
The redshirt junior began his collegiate career at Dayton and spent three years with the Flyers. He was an FCS All-American in 2024 and then transferred to Bowling Green.
During his lone campaign with the Falcons, Lampron racked up 119 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and a couple of forced fumbles.

Not only that, but the Tigers are losing numerous critical defensive players to the NFL Draft this offseason, with defensive tackles Peter Woods and DeMonte Capehart, cornerback Avieon Terrell and edge rusher T.J. Parker all declaring.
Clemson entered the 2025 college football season with national championship aspirations, but got off to a brutal 1-3 start and was never able to recover.
The Tigers have also lost four or more games three years in a row after going 11 straight campaigns without posting four losses between 2012 and 2022.
Swinney has come under harsh criticism for not modernizing his approach, both in terms of the transfer portal and his rather obsolete recruiting strategy.
Once viewed as one of the very top coaches in the country, some feel that Swinney actually should be on the hot seat if he doesn't start making adjustments.
We'll see if Swinney gets with the times in the coming weeks.
