Former Clemson star P.J. Hall has signed a two-way contract with the Charlotte Hornets. Hall went undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft and has spent time with the Denver Broncos and Memphis Grizzlies.
In 19 games with the Nuggets in 2024, he averaged 1.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per game, shooting 58.3 percent from the field. In seven games with the Grizzlies this season, Hall averaged 1.9 points and 1.3 rebounds per game, shooting 55.6 percent from the floor.
Hall has played more time in the G-League this season, averaging 14.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 blocks across 12 games with the Memphis Hustle and Greensboro Swarm.
He will now join a Hornets team that could use more big man depth with Ryan Kalkbrenner, Mason Plumlee, and Grant Williams dealing with injuries.
Hall had an impressive four-year career at Clemson, earning All-ACC honors twice and being named to the 2023-24 NCAA All-Region team in his senior season.
He first earned consistent minutes in his sophomore campaign, averaging 15.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game, shooting 49.3 percent from the field and 30.8 percent from three.
Hall improved his efficiency more in his junior season, averaging 15.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, an assist, and 1.1 blocks. He shot 53.5 percent from the floor and 39.8 percent from distance.
In that season, he averaged 18.3 points per game along with 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.4 blocks. He shot 48.8 percent from the field and 31.5 percent from behind the arc.
The 23-year-old is a stretch big and could earn some minutes for the Hornets while their other bigs are dealing with injuries.
Charlotte is 10-20 and is in 12th place in the Eastern Conference. They are a young rebuilding team that is looking to build around LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and rookie Kon Knueppel.
Hall has yet to find a consistent role with an NBA team, but on a young Hornets team, he will have a chance to earn a role.
The former Clemson star is getting an opportunity with the Hornets and should take full advantage to earn his way to a standard contract.
