Clemson Tigers fans will certainly be pumped after hearing these comments from quarterback Christopher Vizzina.

The Clemson Tigers have a major question at the quarterback position heading into 2026, but it seems that Christopher Vizzina is prepared to solve it.

After learning under Cade Klubnik for three years, Vizzina is next in line to assume the starting job, and it appears that the redshirt junior is leading the pack in a runaway.

Klubnik himself said he felt Vizzina was next up, as did head coach Dabo Swinney following the 2025 campaign.

So, is Vizzina actually ready? His comments tell the story.

“I sat behind a pretty good quarterback for the last couple of years,” Vizzina said. “A great leader and someone I look up to. I love Clemson. I do not want people to think, ‘He stayed behind him because he didn’t think he was ready.’ I just love Clemson. I am a Clemson man. This is where I want to be. If I did not want to be here, I would not be here. I would not buy into the process and commit to what Coach Swinney prepared for me when I first got here. I knew this was a possibility.”

Vizzina made one start last season, going 29-for-42 with 317 yards and three touchdowns in a loss to SMU.

Some have wondered if Vizzina has enough genuine arm talent to develop into a legitimate top quarterback, but he seems to be passing every test thus far.

It's worth noting that the Birmingham, Al. native is a former four-star recruit, so he has been highly touted for quite some time.

Whether or not that actually manifests on the field over the course of a full season, however, is the question.

There is no doubt that Tigers fans should absolutely be fired up over Vizzina's comments, especially considering that the team went just 7-6 in 2025 and lost a bunch of key players to the NFL Draft — and the transfer portal — during the offseason.

Of course, quarterback is not Clemson's only issue. The Tigers have holes up and down their roster, which is certainly scary with the program at risk of fading entirely into obscurity.

Clemson made four National Championship Games between 2015 and 2019, winning two of them. Since then, the Tigers have not won a playoff game, and last year's record represented the team's worst finish since 2010.

Hopefully, Vizzina can help erase the stench of this past season.
