Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers have received an update on a four-star offensive tackle.

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers made an offer to four-star offensive tackle Reece Wilmes for the 2028 class.

One thing that is working in Clemson's favor is that Reece's brother, Braden, is a freshman tackle for the Tigers.

"Coach Luke and I had an amazing conversation," Wilmes said. "He shared with me that he wanted me to be the first offensive lineman that they offered. He was super excited to have offered another Wilmes!"

Clemson would benefit from having two talented offensive linemen on the team in the long term. The Tigers have shown they can develop offensive linemen, as Blake Miller was selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

"It would be pretty cool to play with my brother," Wilmes said. "It was pretty sweet playing with him in high school. I can only imagine how cool it would be to play with him again at the next level."

Swinney and Clemson have done a great job recruiting, as they've put together a strong 2027 class and are now making offers to some talented players like Wilmes for 2028.

"Clemson is definitely high on my list," Wilmes said. "They have impressed me with what they can do with their team. Looking forward to getting back for a game."

The Tigers have a pivotal season ahead after a disappointing 2025 season, in which they finished 7-6 and missed the College Football Playoff.

Clemson had a ton of talent on the roster, but Swinney's group wasn't able to put it all together. They now have nine players from that roster off to the NFL, which will make it tougher for the Tigers to have a successful season in 2026.

However, Swinney did make some changes to the coaching staff to help the team improve, as they hired Chad Morris as the offensive coordinator and Rich Bisaccia as the special teams coordinator.

Swinney and Clemson will look to reestablish themselves as one of the best programs in the country, which would help them land more recruits like Wilmes.
