Clemson Makes Offer on 5-Star Defensive Lineman

The Clemson Tigers have made an offer to five-star defensive lineman Prince Che. Che is one of the top prospects in the 2028 class, as he is the 19th-ranked player according to 247Sports.

Che would be a major addition for Clemson, but landing him will be a challenge, as he has received offers from top programs, including Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida, Georgia, and Indiana.

Che was very impressive in his 2025 season at Thomas County Central, finishing with 45 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, and a PBU.

He is a very disruptive player and would be a great addition for the Tigers. Clemson has shown they can develop defensive linemen in recent years, with Peter Woods and T.J. Parker going within the first 35 picks of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Woods played three solid years with the Tigers before the Kansas City Chiefs selected him with the 29th overall pick. In 2023, Woods finished with 26 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble.

He then had a breakout year in 2024, as he had 28 total tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and a forced fumble. Woods was solid again in 2025, finishing with 30 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks.

Parker was also a key member of Clemson's defense, as he had 32 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery in 2023. Parker's 2024 season was his most impressive, as he finished with 57 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, six forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

Parker was still a quality player in 2025, but his numbers dropped to 37 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and three fumble recoveries.

Swinney and the Tigers could sell Che on the recent development of players like Woods and Parker on their defensive line.

It will be a tough recruiting battle to land a five-star player like Che, but Clemson has landed some talented recruits in recent weeks, as they look to rebuild the program after an underwhelming 2025 season.
