The Clemson Tigers may have sabotaged the NFL futures of two key players.

The Clemson Tigers entered the 2026 campaign with middling expectations, and now that they are 4-3 following a home loss to Virginia Tech, you can see why.

However, Clemson did have some individual players planning on bolstering their NFL Draft stocks, and while someone like cornerback Ashton Hampton has certainly boosted his status, the same cannot be said for wide receivers T.J. Moore and Bryant Wesco.

Both Moore and Wesco went into the year viewed as potential first-round talents, and that made plenty of sense.

Moore was one of the Tigers' only bright spots in 2025, and while Wesco missed the end of the campaign due to injury, he was impressive when he was on the field.

We have not seen the same this year.

Moore has logged 30 catches for 269 yards and a touchdown, averaging a paltry nine yards per grab. Wesco has been ever so slightly more productive, snaring 34 balls for 378 yards, but he has yet to reach the end zone.

Are Moore and Wesco still NFL Draft picks? Of course. Do they have any chance of being first-rounders at this point? Barring a massive turnaround over the last five games of 2026, absolutely not.

Let me preface this by saying Moore and Wesco are certainly at fault here. Neither receiver has played well this season. Both have dropped passes, and Moore in particular has had some rather egregious miscues.

But it's not just on them.

Clemson's quarterback situation has been awful. Tait Reynolds has delivered just one touchdown pass all year long, and the team's aerial attack is at the bottom of the country.

Reynolds is a true freshman lacking experience, but he also has not been good. There is no sugarcoating it.

The coaching staff has also let Moore and Wesco down, failing to put the two top pass-catchers in a position to succeed.

We can blame offensive coordinator Chad Morris as much as we want, but what about Dabo Swinney refusing to get a quarterback in the transfer portal last winter? For that, he owes Moore and Wesco an apology.

It has even reached a point where Moore and Wesco might even consider returning to Clemson for another season to rebuild their draft stock, which is not something anyone thought had a chance of occurring entering 2026.

But because of how pitiful the Tigers' offense has been, this is the predicament in which Moore and Wesco both find themselves with just a few weeks left to play.
