Clemson Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik has been connected to a storied NFL franchise yet again.
Things certainly did not go according to plan for Clemson Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik this year, as he entered 2025 viewed by many as a potential No. 1 overall pick, but instead saw his stock absolutely plummet.
Now, the prevailing thought is that Klubnik will be a Day 3 selection, and he almost certainly won't get a chance to start during his first NFL season.
But where will Klubnik land?
Some teams make more sense than others, but one interesting club that has been linked to Klubnik multiple times is the Dallas Cowboys.
In fact, ESPN's Matt Miller just predicted the Cowboys to select Klubnik in the sixth round (No. 180) in his latest mock draft.
So, would Dallas actually comprise a sensible destination for Klubnik?
Perhaps.
Dak Prescott has two more years remaining on his contract, and considering how up and down his career has been, it would not be surprising if 2027 proved to be his final season with the Cowboys.
If that ends up being the case, Klubnik could get the opportunity to start in Dallas as soon as 2028, and he would have two years of learning experience under his belt.

While none of them probably think the Clemson product can step in and start immediately, there surely is some hope for Klubnik.
After all, the 22-year-old threw for 3,639 yards and 36 touchdowns while also rushing for 463 yards and seven scores as recently as 2024, so there is obviously talent there.
Yes, Klubnik took a major step back this past season, finishing with 2,943 yards and 16 touchdowns while failing to even crack 100 yards on the ground, but the Tigers as a whole were massively disappointing in 2025.
Maybe Klubnik would benefit from a change of scenery?
The Cowboys definitely have a terrific set of weapons at their disposal, and even if the roster looks a bit different come 2028, Dallas always seems to manage to field a strong offense full of playmakers.
Are the Cowboys the best possible match for Klubnik in the draft? Maybe not, but Dallas certainly wouldn't represent the worst landing spot for the Austin, Tx. native.
