Clemson Tigers quarterback Christopher Vizzina has landed an intriguing outlook heading into the 2026 season.
The Clemson Tigers no longer have Cade Klubnik under center, representing a big change at quarterback for the program.
Taking Klubnik's place will be Christopher Vizzina, a former four-star recruit who arrived at Clemson in 2023 and has made all of one start since.
There are some serious questions surrounding Vizzina heading into 2026, and he is also facing legitimate competition from true freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds for the starting job this fall.
The general expectation is that Dabo Swinney will settle on Vizzina, but the redshirt junior may end up having a short leash.
On that note, ESPN's Bill Connelly has ranked Vizzina 27th among his 40 most important players entering the season, stating that the Tigers could finish second in the ACC if the signal-caller delivers.

Moore and Bryant Wesco Jr. returning, he'll certainly have solid pass catchers at his disposal," Connelly wrote.
In his lone start in 2025, Vizzina went 29-for-42 with 317 yards and three touchdowns in a loss to SMU. He has gone 64-for-105 with 596 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in 14 appearances overall since joining the Tigers.
Clemson actually has a very talented roster going into the season and could very well represent a potential sleeper CFP contender, but as Connelly noted, much of that will hinge on Vizzina's performance.
Vizzina definitely has a solid arsenal of weapons around him. Beyond Moore and Wesco, he has fellow wide receivers Tyler Brown and the 6-foot-5 Tristan Smith. Plus, four-star freshman wide outs Naeem Burroughs, Gordon Sellars and Connor Salmin are in tow.
Additionally, the backfield duo of Gideon Davidson and Chris Johnson Jr. — the latter of whom is a transfer out of SMU — is teeming with potential.
The Tigers have a chance to be really good this fall, and if Vizzina can step up, they should be significantly better than they were last season.
