The Clemson Tigers have received a disappointing update as four-star linebacker Sean Fox has committed to Kentucky over the Tigers.
Fox would've been a solid addition to Clemson's 2027 class. In the 2024 season, Fox played at a high level, finishing with 105 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, three sacks, and six PBU's.
He played well again in the 2025 season, as he had 91 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, three PBU's, and three forced fumbles.
While it's disappointing that the Tigers were unable to land Fox over Kentucky, they still have a talented 2027 class and a promising future.
Dabo Swinney needed to make some changes for the future after an underwhelming 2025 season, as they finished with a 7-6 record and missed out on the College Football Playoff.
The Tigers had lofty expectations of competing for the National Championship as they had a ton of talent on the roster. However, Swinney and Clemson were unable to put it all together.

To bounce back in the 2026 season, the Tigers will need a ton of players to step up and the new coaching staff to help the team improve. Swinney brought in Chad Morris for his second stint as their offensive coordinator and Rich Bisaccia as the special teams coordinator.
With the adjustment to the coaching changes and a lot of talent out the door, it could be a tough season for Clemson.
One significant change the Tigers will face is at quarterback, as three-year starter Cade Klubnik is off to the New York Jets. Klubnik had a productive career with Clemson, completing 64 percent of his passes for 10,123 yards, 73 touchdowns, and 24 interceptions while rushing for 878 yards and 17 touchdowns.
The Tigers will now turn to junior Christopher Vizzina or true freshman Tait Reynolds as the starting quarterback.
Vizzina will likely be the starter, but Reynolds has more upside long-term, which could lead to a change throughout the season if Clemson gets off to a slow start.
While the Tigers have some question marks for the 2026 season and missed out on landing Fox, they have a promising future with a strong 2027 recruiting class thus far.
