The Clemson Tigers have certainly taken some hits on the recruiting trail this offseason, but they finally received some good news this week.
Four-star edge rusher Andrew Rogers has revealed that he will be in attendance at Clemson's Elite Retreat on March 7, which clearly means that the Tigers are in the running for his services.
Initially a 2027 prospect, Rogers reclassified to the class of 2026 and had actually committed to Virginia Tech before re-opening his recruitment back in November. He then decided to move back to the class of 2027.
The 6-foot-6, 240-pound pass rusher is certainly quite the physical specimen and has already received offers from 20 schools. Ironically enough, Clemson is not one of them, but an offer may very well be coming next month.
Rogers is the 29th-ranked edge rusher in his class and the 14th-ranked player in the state of North Carolina, via 247 Sports' composite rankings.

Gabe Brooks of 247 Sports noted that Rogers may ultimately develop into more of a hand-in-the-dirt defensive lineman rather than a pure edge rusher in the future, which certainly makes sense due to his massive size.
Clemson has already secured commitments from five players for its 2027 class, but it has yet to add any edge rushers or defensive linemen. Perhaps Rogers could be one of the first for the Tigers.
Considering how much defensive talent Clemson has lost this offseason, restocking on top-tier defenders for the next couple of years will be crucial.
The problem is that the Tigers are not quite as efficient on the recruiting trail as they once were, and in the case of Rogers, they will be battling schools like Georgia, LSU, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Tennessee for his services.
Clemson went just 7-6 this past season, representing its worst finish since going 6-7 during Dabo Swinney's second year at the helm back in 2010.
