Clemson Tigers edge rusher TJ Parker could join a contender in the NFL Draft.

Clemson Tigers star TJ Parker established himself as one of the top edge rushers for the upcoming NFL Draft.

In The Athletic's latest mock draft, Parker lands with the San Francisco 49ers with the 27th overall pick.

The 49ers could use help off the edge outside of Nick Bosa. Bosa is one of the best pass rushers in the league when on the field, but he has struggled to stay healthy.

Adding a player of Parker's caliber could help Bosa be even better when he's on the field and give the 49ers more depth at the position.

Parker played three seasons at Clemson. In his freshman campaign, he had 32 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery.

He had an incredible sophomore season, finishing with 57 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, six forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

Parker couldn't replicate that success in 2025, but was still a solid pass rusher, as he had 37 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and three fumble recoveries.

His ability to get pressure on the quarterback would help a contender like the 49ers, which could use more help on defense as they look to get over the hump.

Losing Parker, as well as other key starters like Peter Woods, Avieon Terrell, and Cade Klubnik, to the draft is tough for the Tigers.

Clemson failed to capitalize on having that talent on the roster in 2025, going just 7-6 and missing out on the College Football Playoff and the ACC Title Game.

Heading into the season, the Tigers were expected to be one of the best teams in college football.

Head coach Dabo Swinney will now be tasked with turning the program around while having to replace these key starters.

This is an important season for Swinney, as another disappointing season could result in Clemson considering a change at head coach.

Swinney and the Tigers will look to have a better season in 2026, while Parker goes off to the NFL, where he could develop into a quality pass rusher.
