Clemson Tigers standout guard Jestin Porter has reportedly landed with an NBA team for Summer League.

The Clemson Tigers may be known for football, but their basketball program has taken big steps forward over the last few years.

During the 2025-26 college basketball season, Clemson ended up posting a 24-11 record. The Tigers were able to get into the NCAA Tournament as a No. 8 seed, but were unable to pick up a win.

In the first round of the tournament, Clemson was eliminated by the Iowa Hawkeyes by a final score of 67-61. Of course, the Hawkeyes and head coach Ben McCollum went on to make a run all the way to the Elite 8, showing that they were much better than the No. 9 seed they earned.

All of that being said, one key player from last season's team has landed an NBA opportunity.

As shared by the Clemson official basketball page on X, guard Jestin Porter has agreed to a deal with the Memphis Grizzlies to play Summer League with the team.

"Jestin Porter will play with the Memphis Grizzlies during 2026 NBA Summer League," the post read.

Throughout the course of the 2025-26 season with the Tigers, Porter played in 35 games and made 31 starts. He averaged 9.6 points per game to go along with 1.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.2 steals, while also shooting 37.3 percent from the floor and 34.8 percent from the three-point arc.

Porter played the first three years of his college career at Middle Tennessee State. Back in 2024-25, he played in and started 34 games. He averaged 15 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game during that campaign, shooting 41.1 percent overall and 36.4 percent from distance.

Whether or not Porter can earn a contract with the Grizzlies remains to be seen, but he has earned an opportunity.

Hopefully, the young guard is able to make the most of the chance he has been given. With a strong Summer League, he will give himself a chance to stick around in Memphis, or at least audition for an opportunity with another team.

NBA Summer League for Memphis is set to begin on July 4 when the Grizzlies take on the Oklahoma City Thunder.
