Clemson Tigers star wide receiver Antonio Williams has been drafted to help out a young quarterback.

Clemson Tigers star wide receiver Antonio Williams has been selected with the 71st pick by the Washington Commanders.

Williams had some productive seasons throughout his time with the Tigers. In his freshman season, he finished with 56 receptions for 604 yards and four touchdowns.

He only appeared in five games for Clemson in his sophomore campaign, finishing with 22 receptions for 224 yards and two touchdowns.

Williams played 14 games in his junior season in 2024, breaking out with 75 receptions for 904 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also added 101 yards and a touchdown on seven carries on the ground.

He was productive again in the 2025 season in 10 games, as he had 55 receptions for 604 yards and four touchdowns. Williams added 78 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.

Williams is a slot receiver and was a reliable weapon for Clemson's offense, particularly in 2024 on their run to the College Football Playoff.

"They're going to be able to sleep well at night knowing Antonio is a difference maker in the community and he’s an absolute baller that plays the game the way it’s supposed to be played," Clemson’s wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham said. "They are getting a guy that loves football and loves to compete. He is going to make plays all over the field from multiple positions."

This is high praise for Williams, who was a great individual on and off the field for the Tigers.

He will be the latest weapon for Jayden Daniels and the Commanders' offense. Washington made it to the NFC Championship Game in the 2024 season, but did not make it to the postseason in 2025.

Williams will be a great target for Daniels and the Commanders as they look to have a bounce-back season. Clemson will miss his constant presence in their offense in the 2026 season.
