A Clemson Tigers recruit has been upgraded to being a five-star prospect.

Clemson Tigers commit Jamarin Simmons has been upgraded from a four-star prospect to a five-star prospect.

Simmons committed to the Tigers a few weeks ago and could be the next elite wide receiver for the program. He is the only five-star recruit that they have landed in the 2027 class.

Clemson has developed some quality wide receivers over the past decade, including Mike Williams, Tee Higgins, Antonio Williams, and TJ Moore.

Mike Williams had a great college career with the Tigers, hauling in 177 receptions for 2,727 yards and 21 touchdowns across four seasons. Following his career at Clemson, the Los Angeles Chargers selected him with the seventh overall pick in the draft.

Higgins also had an impressive career with the Tigers, as he had 135 receptions for 2,448 yards and 27 touchdowns, as well as a rushing touchdown in his three years. He went on to be selected by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 33rd overall pick in the draft.

Antonio Williams just finished a solid career at Clemson, finishing with 208 receptions for 2,336 yards and 21 touchdowns while rushing for 187 yards and two touchdowns. The Washington Commanders selected him in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Moore is the current Tigers' wide receiver who is developing into a star, with 97 receptions for 1,488 yards and nine touchdowns across 2024 and 2025.

Simmons has the chance to be the next great wide receiver at Clemson, as he has been very productive during his high school career.

In 2023, Simmons finished with eight receptions for 109 yards and three touchdowns before breaking out in 2024 with 49 receptions for 996 yards and eight touchdowns.

In 2025, Simmons played at a high level, as he had 59 receptions for 932 yards and 14 touchdowns. Simmons is an elite prospect and the headline player of Clemson's impressive 2027 class thus far.

While Dabo Swinney and the Tigers had a down year in 2025, missing the College Football Playoff, as they finished with a 7-6 record, their recruiting has been impressive, including Simmons.
