Clemson Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney has dropped a major update on one of his top wide receivers.

Last season, Clemson Tigers wide receiver Bryant Wesco suffered a terrifying injury when he landed on his head during the team's loss to SMU in October.

Thankfully, Wesco avoided a serious injury, although he did hurt his back and was sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.

Wesco was enjoying a very impressive year prior to the incident, having caught 31 passes for 537 yards and six touchdowns through seven games.

There are questions about Wesco's status heading into 2026, and head coach Dabo Swinney provided an update on the key playmaker ahead of the team's first spring practice on Wednesday.

"Wesco is doing everything except tackling. We’re not going to do any live work, but he looks amazing," Swinney told reporters. "He’s flying. But he’s going to do all of our team separate stuff with all the install, but he’ll be held out of all the good on good this spring. That’s the one thing he won’t be allowed to do. But everything else – he’s timing with the quarterbacks, routes, all the install team separate stuff. He’s doing all that – mat drills, done everything. But he’ll have no live contact. So, he looks amazing. He’s doing great. I feel really good about him."

Swinney did not provide any sort of timetable for when Wesco will be completely ready for action, but the fact that the junior wide out is looking so fresh is fantastic news.

Wesco arrived at Clemson in 2024 and immediately flashed his potential, hauling in 41 receptions for 708 yards and five scores.

The former four-star recruit has averaged a robust 17.3 yards per catch in each of his first two seasons, demonstrating his explosiveness.

Should Wesco return healthy for 2026, the Tigers will boast one of the country's more impressive receiver duos in the form of Wesco and T.J. Moore, the latter of whom is viewed as a first-round talent heading into next season.

Clemson went just 7-6 in 2025 after entering the year with national championship aspirations. It marked the team's worst finish since going 6-7 in 2010, which was Swinney's second full season at the helm.
