The Clemson Tigers have landed a four-star safety for the 2027 class.
The Clemson Tigers have landed another player for their 2027 class as four-star safety Jayden Aparicio-Bailey has committed to the program.
Aparicio-Bailey chose Clemson over their SEC rival, the Georgia Bulldogs. He joins a talented Tigers' 2027 recruiting class that ranks 11th in the country per 247 Sports.
It was pivotal for Dabo Swinney and the Tigers to bring in a strong 2027 recruiting class after they underperformed in the 2025 season. Clemson finished with a 7-6 record, missing out on the College Football Playoff despite entering the season with expectations of being a contender.
Swinney was aggressive in making changes, with transfer portal additions and bringing in new coaches with Chad Morris as the offensive coordinator and Rich Bisaccia as the special teams coordinator.
Swinney and the Tigers made 11 transfer portal additions, including edge rusher London Merritt from Colorado and running back Chris Johnson Jr. from SMU.
Ken Ruinard / USA Today Co / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn ImagesMerritt will be a key piece for Clemson's defensive line as he played well in his freshman season at Colorado, finishing with 25 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and a sack.
Johnson Jr. was the lone offensive addition for the Tigers in the transfer portal. He rushed for 479 yards and four touchdowns on 67 carries.
With the limited additions on offense, Clemson will be putting a lot of pressure on their current talent. Wide receiver TJ Moore will lead the way after being one of the few bright spots in the 2025 season, as he finished with 52 receptions for 837 yards and four touchdowns.
Moore will be pivotal as the Tigers will have a new quarterback, as Cade Klubnik is off to the New York Jets.
The starting quarterback for Clemson will be junior Christopher Vizzina or true freshman Tait Reynolds. Vizzina has completed 64 of 105 passes (61 percent) for 596 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception while rushing for 109 yards and a touchdown in his career with the Tigers.
It will be a major adjustment for Clemson's roster in the 2026 season with many starters, including Klubnik, off to the NFL. However, with additions like Aparicio-Bailey in the 2027 class, the future looks bright.
