The Clemson Tigers have made an offer to the top linebacker in the 2028 class.

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers are remaining aggressive with recruiting as they have made an offer to five-star linebacker Tahj Gray for the 2028 class.

Gray is ranked as the top linebacker in the 2028 class by 247 Sports and would be a major addition for Clemson.

In the 2025 season at St. Joseph Regional, Gray finished with 102 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, four PBU's, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

The Tigers have done a great job recruiting for the 2027 class and are now making some offers to talented players for 2028.

It was pivotal for Clemson to have strong recruiting classes for the future after a rough 2025 season. The Tigers went 7-6, which was well below their expectations of making it to the College Football Playoff.

That led Swinney to make some changes this offseason, as he was more aggressive in the transfer portal and brought in Chad Morris as the offensive coordinator and Rich Bisaccia as the special teams coordinator.

For the Tigers to succeed in the 2026 season, they will need their new additions to step up. Clemson landed edge rusher London Merritt from Colorado and running back Chris Johnson Jr. from SMU.

Merritt played well in his freshman campaign at Colorado, as he finished with 25 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, and a sack. He will be a contributing pass rusher for the Tigers in the 2026 season.

Johnson Jr. will be impactful in the backfield, as he rushed for 479 yards and four touchdowns on 67 carries (7.1 yards per carry). He also hauled in 17 receptions for 180 yards and a touchdown, showing he can be a solid pass catcher.

Clemson has been one of the best programs over the past decade, but they are coming off a down year. Swinney has done a great job recruiting and will look to land players like Gray in the future to get the program back to being one of the best in college football.
