The Clemson Tigers have received an update on one of the top safeties in the 2027 class.
The Clemson Tigers are in the mix to land four-star safety Jayden Aparicio-Bailey, as he has narrowed down to them and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Aparicio-Bailey is a top 10 safety in the 2027 class and would be a major addition for Clemson's defense.
Dabo Swinney and the Tigers are putting together an incredible 2027 class, currently ranked seventh in the country. Aparicio-Bailey would be another tremendous commitment for Clemson.
It was important for Swinney and the Tigers to land a strong recruiting class after they struggled in the 2025 season and lost nine players to the NFL Draft.
Clemson finished 7-6 and did not make the College Football Playoff or the ACC Championship Game.
However, there is some hope that Swinney will restore the program to being a contender in the near future with the incoming talent in 2027. The 2026 season is still in question due to concerns about the loss of starters, including at quarterback.
The New York Jets selected Cade Klubnik in the 2026 NFL Draft after he appeared in 49 games with the Tigers. He was a productive quarterback for Clemson, completing 64 percent of his passes for 10,123 yards, 73 touchdowns, and 24 interceptions while rushing for 878 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Jim Dedmon-Imagn ImagesIt will be difficult to replace Klubnik, and the competition for the job is between junior Christopher Vizzina and true freshman Tait Reynolds.
Vizzina hasn't played much, sitting behind Klubnik, while Reynolds has a ton of talent, but hasn't played at the collegiate level.
However, the Tigers do have some talent to lean on offense with star wide receiver TJ Moore. Moore is coming off a career year in 2025, as he hauled in 52 receptions for 837 yards and four touchdowns.
While Moore will help whoever wins the quarterback battle, the success of the offense will come down to Chad Morris's scheme as the offensive coordinator. Morris was brought in for his second stint as the Tigers' offensive coordinator this offseason, as Swinney looks to rebuild the culture.
The 2026 season remains an unknown for Clemson's success, but their 2027 recruiting class is promising and could add another top player soon if Aparicio-Bailey commits to the program.
