The Clemson Tigers just met with an elite pass rusher.
The Clemson Tigers have not exactly been lighting it up on the recruiting trail in recent years, at least relatively speaking.
There was a time when Clemson was one of the top schools in the country when it came to finding elite recruits, but lately, the Tigers have slipped, which certainly has a whole lot to do with the new NIL era.
But it's not like Clemson has fallen off the map completely.
Case in point, the Tigers scored a visit with a top pass rusher on Wednesday, meeting with four-star edge Justin Weeks.
Clemson was the first of six scheduled visits Weeks has over the next three weeks. He will also be meeting with Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Georgia Tech and Ohio State.
Weeks is the 33rd-ranked defensive lineman and the 282nd-ranked player nationally in the class of 2027.
The Douglasville, Ga. product has received 28 offers. Of the six teams Weeks is meeting with in the coming weeks, Clemson is the only school to not have made an offer to him just yet.

Weeks has just one official visit scheduled as of right now, though, which will come with Ohio State on June 5 (that's in addition to the visit he has slated with the Buckeyes next month).
Clemson has already bagged seven commitments for the class of 2027, including a pair of four-stars in linebacker Bryce Kish and wide receiver Trey Wimbley.
The Tigers are aiming to bounce back after going just 7-6 this past season in spite of entering the year with national championship aspirations.
It marked Clemson's worst finish since going 6-7 back in 2010, which was Dabo Swinney's second full season at the helm.
The Tigers made four National Championship Game appearances between 2015 and 2019, winning two of them. They have not won a playoff game since, which has some wondering if Swinney is on the hot seat heading into 2026.
Clemson will open up at LSU on Sept. 5. Swinney and Co. fell to LSU when it hosted the Tigers in its opener last year.
