The Clemson Tigers have a handful of players who could be selected over the first couple of rounds of the NFL Draft this April, but perhaps none are more intriguing than cornerback Avieon Terrell.
Terrell has a chance to be the best cornerback in his class, possessing a genuine nasty streak and incredible tenacity to compensate for his lack of elite size.
Think of Cortland Finnegan during his prime days with the Tennessee Titans.
As a result, Terrell is being projected by most to be a first-round pick and has seen his stock rise over the last month or so.
In fact, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. has predicted Terrell to land with the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 23 overall.
"The Eagles tried to fix the CB2 position opposite Quinyon Mitchell (Cooper DeJean is in the slot) with trades for Jaire Alexander and Michael Carter II, but neither move did the trick," Kiper wrote. "Carter barely played down the stretch, and Alexander stepped away from football in mid-November."
Kiper feels that the 5-foot-11 Terrell could be the solution.

He broke up nine passes and forced five -- yes, five -- fumbles in 2025," Kiper added. "He's terrific in man coverage, and coordinator Vic Fangio had his defense in man 55% of the time this season, third most in the NFL."
Actually, Terrell racked up eight forced fumbles over his last couple of years at Clemson combined, demonstrating his hard-hitting ability and his nose for the ball.
The 21-year-old totaled 48 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and three sacks this past season and also accumulated three interceptions throughout his three-year tenure with the Tigers.
Terrell is one of three Clemson defenders who could fly off the board on Day 1 this spring, with defensive tackle Peter Woods — the top-rated Tigers player in this draft class — and edge rusher T.J. Parker representing the other two.
Philadelphia could certainly use some extra help in the secondary, and while the Eagles may have bigger issues to address in Round 1 (such as their pass rush, which is why Parker might actually be the better fit), you can't go wrong with Terrell.
