This Clemson Tigers wide receiver has delivered a strong message heading into a critical year for himself.
When wide receiver Tyler Brown first joined the Clemson Tigers in 2023, he immediately burst on to the scene.
Brown hauled in 52 receptions for 531 yards and four touchdowns during his freshman campaign, leading all Clemson receivers in both catches and yards.
Expectations were high for the former three-star recruit heading into his sophomore year, but an injury limited him to just six games. During that time, Brown logged a mere five catches for 30 yards.
Brown played a full season in 2025, but he was barely utilized, snaring 22 balls for 191 yards in a Tigers offense that also included receivers T.J. Moore, Antonio Williams and Bryant Wesco.
The Greenville, S.C. native is hoping for a much better year next season in what will be his redshirt junior campaign.
“I’m feeling great, I’m feeling healthy,” Brown said, via The Clemson Insider. “I’m taking care of my body way more than I used to, having more time to take care of my body and not having those tutors and such things that I had as a younger receiver and just taking advantage of that for sure.”

He certainly appears mentally prepared for a larger role next fall.
“I’m hungry, man,” Brown added. “I was hungry when I was playing, you know? I just love football, man. I’m just ready to get out there and help my teammates as best as I can.”
Tigers offensive coordinator Chad Morris said he has been "pleased" watching Brown in practice, so perhaps the pass-catcher is on his way to a much more fruitful season in 2026.
Of course, the competition for Brown will be pretty tough.
Yes, Williams is gone, but incoming freshmen wide receivers Naeem Burroughs, Connor Salmin, and Gordon Sellars — all four-star prospects — will be vying for playing time, as well.
We'll see if Brown can develop a good rapport with quarterback Christopher Vizzina and, in turn, become one of Vizzina's favorite targets.
Clemson went just 7-6 in 2025, marking its worst finish since going 6-7 back in 2010.
