Clemson Tigers star cornerback Avieon Terrell has been drafted in the second round.

Clemson Tigers star cornerback Avieon Terrell has landed with the Atlanta Falcons as they selected him with the 48th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Terrell now joins his brother, AJ, in the cornerback room in Atlanta. The former Clemson stars are reuniting at the NFL level. AJ spent three years under Dabo Swinney before being selected by the Falcons with the 16th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Terrell proved to be a quality corner in his time with the Tigers. In his freshman season, Terrell finished his rookie campaign with 19 total tackles, an interception, and four pass deflections.

He had his breakout season in 2024, finishing with 58 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, a sack, two interceptions, 12 pass deflections, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

Terrell was productive again in 2025, as he had 48 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, nine pass deflections, five forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.

His ability to blitz out of the nickel makes him an intriguing fit for the Falcons. Atlanta brought in Kevin Stefanski as their head coach this offseason, and this is the first selection during his tenure.

The Falcons are looking to add to their defense, and their secondary should be better next season.

Terrell's versatility on defense will be a major loss for Clemson as they look to have a bounce-back season in 2026.

The Tigers struggled in 2025, missing out on the College Football Playoff after going just 7-6. They were expected to be contenders to win the National Championship, but didn't even make it to the ACC Title Game.

Clemson is now losing key players of their defense as Terrell, TJ Parker, and Peter Woods have been selected in the draft.

Terrell will look to make an impact at the next level after a great career under Dabo Swinney and the Tigers.
