Clemson Tigers star Sammy Brown has received a major prediction for the 2027 NFL Draft.
Clemson Tigers star linebacker Sammy Brown is entering the 2026 season as one of the best players at his position.
In a recent 2027 NFL Mock Draft, Brown lands with the Denver Broncos with the 20th overall pick.
Brown has played at a high level in his first two years at Clemson. In his freshman season, he finished with 80 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and three pass deflections.
He improved in the 2025 season, recording 106 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, five pass deflections, an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
The 20-year-old will be a key piece for Dabo Swinney's defense as Clemson looks to have a bounce-back season in 2026.
Ken Ruinard / USA Today Network South Carolina / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn ImagesThe Tigers were among the favorites to win the National Championship entering the 2025 season, but struggled, finishing with a 7-6 record. The disappointing season led Swinney to make bold changes, firing offensive coordinator Garrett Riley to bring in Chad Morris. He also hired Rich Bisaccia to be the special teams coordinator.
Clemson also added more talent in the transfer portal, adding 11 players. Edge rusher London Merritt from Colorado was one of their big additions, finishing with 25 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, and a sack.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Tigers only made one addition with SMU running back Chris Johnson Jr.
Johnson Jr. is coming off a great season at SMU as he rushed for 479 yards and four touchdowns on 67 carries (7.1 yards per carry). He also hauled in 17 receptions for 180 yards and a touchdown, proving his value as a receiving back.
While the total numbers aren't there for Johnson Jr., he was very efficient with his touches.
Although Swinney and Clemson struggled in the 2025 season, they have the talent on the roster to be better in 2026, and Brown will be a pivotal piece for the Tigers, having an elite defense.
