Dabo Swinney, Clemson Add Top-Ranked Punter

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers continue their great recruiting class as they have landed the top-ranked punter in the 2027 class, Brandin Gallaway.

This is a major addition for Clemson's special teams, as Gallaway is also the fourth-ranked kicker in the class.

"I want to also thank my family for all their support and help with my recruiting process. Lastly, I want to thank all the coaches that believed in me and for recruiting me through this process. Thank you to Coach KT and Brunno for teaching me so much along this journey. After lots of thoughts and prayers I have made the decision to be a Clemson Tiger! Let's go!!!!"

The Tigers have been active in recruiting for 2027, landing several recruits over the last couple of days.

Swinney knows he needs to be aggressive after an uncharacteristic 7-6 season in 2025. Clemson has been one of the top programs in college football consistently, but fell short of the high expectations of winning the ACC and reaching the College Football Playoff.

They had the talent on the roster, with nine players selected in the 2026 NFL Draft from the team, but couldn't put it together on the field.

That led Swinney to make some changes, hiring Rich Bisaccia as special teams coordinator and Chad Morris as offensive coordinator.

With those changes and additions in the transfer portal, the Tigers will be looking to bounce back in 2026.

However, it won't be easy, as they will be replacing multiple key positions, including the quarterback position. Christopher Vizzina is expected to be the starter but has limited experience, having completed 64 of 105 passes for 596 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception while rushing for 109 yards and a touchdown across 2024 and 2025.

While much of the 2026 season will hinge on Vizzina's production, Clemson fans should be excited about the future, as they have put together a great 2027 class with players like Gallaway.
