This is a great honor for Trevor Lawrence.

Former Clemson star Trevor Lawrence was named the sixth-best QB in the NFL by NFL.com.

Lawrence is one spot ahead of Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions and one spot behind Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Lawrence spent three years at Clemson and established himself as a college football legend. He put up 10,098 passing yards, 90 passing touchdowns, 943 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns in 40 games.

Lawrence won the 2020 ACC Offensive Player of the Year award and the Player of the Year award. In 2018, the superstar QB led Clemson to the championship over Alabama.

Then, in 2020, Lawrence led the ACC in completion percentage.

Lawrence is fourth in Clemson history in passing yards, tied for second with Deshaun Watson in passing touchdowns and fifth in completions.

The Jaguars selected Lawrence with the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Lawrence is a one-time Pro Bowler in the NFL. He has 19,302 passing yards and 112 passing touchdowns.

Jacksonville has only made the playoffs once in the Lawrence era, but Lawrence wants to spend his entire NFL career with the Jaguars.

“This is home,” Lawrence said on the Backyard Breaks podcast. “We started our family here. We love it.”

Lawrence was a winner at Clemson. Now, he's trying to lead the Jaguars to the promised land for the first time in franchise history.

As of this writing, the Jaguars are 4-2. They lead the AFC South. Lawrence has 1,480 passing yards and 14 passing touchdowns. He's thrown only four interceptions.

Clemson fans are rooting for the Jaguars to make the playoffs this season and win the Super Bowl. Lawrence is already a legend in South Carolina. If he can lead the Jaguars to their first Super Bowl, Lawrence will be immortalized in Jacksonville.

Next up for the Jaguars is a matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Lawrence and Co. should easily win that game, as the Colts are 2-5 and enter this week on a three-game losing streak.

The Colts traded DeForest Buckner to the 49ers and Quenton Nelson to the Seahawks on Tuesday. They are in rebuild mode.

It will be interesting to see if Lawrence's Jaguars make any trades. The 2026 NFL trade deadline is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. ET. After this time, teams will no longer be allowed to execute trades until the 2027 league year officially begins in March.
