This former Clemson Tigers star is closing in on his first NFL game.
Former Clemson Tigers running back Adam Randall was one of the more intriguing Clemson alums to watch heading into the 2026 NFL campaign.
Randall was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round of the NFL Draft last April and was expected to become a key part of the Ravens' run-heavy offense this season.
However, a neck injury has kept him sidelined for the first seven weeks, and that came after a very impressive showing in training camp and preseason.
The good news is that Baltimore opened Randall's 21-day practice window on Oct. 28, and it's looking like the ex-Tigers star could make his NFL debut against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Randall's Clemson career was certainly an odd one.
The 6-foot-3, 232-pound playmaker began his Tigers tenure as a wide receiver and spent three unfruitful seasons in that role before moving to running back in his final year.
The position switch proved successful for Randall, as he rushed for 814 yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging 4.8 yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 36 receptions for 254 yards and three scores.
Randall put forth a notable effort at the NFL Scouting Combine, opening some eyes with his unique blend of burst and power.
Because his collegiate sample size was so small, many were unsure about him, but that did not stop the Ravens from using Day 3 pick on him.
Randall's stock actually rose heading toward the draft, and in a very thin running back class, he was actually viewed as one of the more dynamic rushers available.
Derrick Henry is obviously Baltimore's featured back, and eight-year veteran Justice Hill has done a fine job filling in as the No. 2.
But there is no question Randall has more potential than Hill, who is 28 years old and has already hit his ceiling as a decent complementary piece.
Randall actually could be the guy the Ravens turn to once Henry's days are over, and it should be noted that Henry has shown signs of decline this season.
It will be interesting to see just how much head coach Jesse Minter and offensive coordinator Declan Doyle utilize Randall, who can be a weapon in the passing game just as much as he can be a force on the ground.
Clemson fans will surely be monitoring Randall, who could very well be one of the league's biggest sleepers.
