Former NFL Star’s Son Commits to Clemson Tigers

The Clemson Tigers have landed another recruit as three-star wide receiver Julian Cromartie has committed to the program.

Cromartie is the son of former NFL star cornerback Antonio Cromartie. He was an All-Pro and a four-time Pro Bowler in his stellar playing career.

His son, Julian, will now look to make his mark with the Tigers. He committed to the Tigers over Texas, Kansas, and Kentucky.

"I wasn't even really considering Clemson, honestly," Cromartie said. "But now that they started pursuing me, I really started considering them. They really just showed me where they see me fitting in the offense. They think my play style relates to guys like Tee Higgins and Mike Williams. Seeing that, I could really see myself in an offense like that. It really excited me."

Cromartie could be in line to be the next quality receiver for the Tigers. In the 2025 season, he hauled in 42 receptions for 824 yards and 13 touchdowns.

As Cromartie mentioned, Higgins and Williams developed well in their time at Clemson.

Higgins had a clear progression throughout his college career, catching 17 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns in his freshman season. He had a breakout campaign in his sophomore year, hauling in 59 receptions for 936 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Higgins was even more impressive in his junior year, finishing with 59 receptions for 1,167 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Williams also had great development at Clemson, as he had 20 receptions for 316 yards and three touchdowns in his freshman campaign. In his sophomore year, he became a star, finishing with 57 receptions for 1,030 yards and six touchdowns.

Williams missed most of his junior campaign with an injury, but played at a high level in his senior season, as he had 98 receptions for 1,361 yards and 11 touchdowns on the way to a National Championship.

With a proven track record of developing wide receivers into stars under Swinney, Cromartie has put his belief in them to do the same for him.

Cromartie's father had a tremendous football career, but it's time for Julian to create his own legacy, and he will be doing so in Death Valley.
