You would be hard-pressed to find a player whose NFL Draft stock has plummeted more over the last several weeks than Clemson Tigers defensive tackle Peter Woods.
Early on in 2025, Woods was viewed as a top-five pick, with some even projecting him to land in the top three. A disappointing season changed that, but over the last few weeks, Woods' rep has dropped like a rock.
Even late in the campaign when it was clear that Woods was not matching his production from 2024, he was still largely perceived as a mid first-round selection, but now, more and more buzz is growing that Woods could fall to Day 2.
Case in point, Joel Klatt of Fox Sports recently ran a mock draft and had three Clemson players coming off the board in the first round: offensive tackle Blake Miller, cornerback Avieon Terrell and edge rusher T.J. Parker.
Woods? Nowhere to be found.
It's truly a stunning turn of events for Woods, who was the considered the consensus top defensive tackle in this year's draft class up until recently, when players like Florida's Caleb Banks, Ohio State's Kayden McDonald and Texas Tech's Lee Hunter gained massive ground.

The 20-year-old registered 30 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and a couple of sacks this past season, which followed a 2024 campaign in which Woods tallied 28 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.
The talent is clearly there for Woods, who displayed bursts of dominance throughout his time with the Tigers. That includes 2025.
However, consistency has been a major issue for Woods, whose motor has been largely questioned.
Of course, Woods can rebuild his standing at the Scouting Combine later this month, but it's entirely possible that the damage that has been done to his draft stock is generally irreparable at this point.
I don't think anyone doubts that Woods could develop into a star on the professional level, but it's pretty clear that there is some serious uncertainty over his floor.
