The Clemson Tigers have received a new prediction from Paul Finebaum that fans won't like.
Entering the 2026 college football season, a lot of pressure is on the shoulders of head coach Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers.
Last year, the Tigers entered the season as a top-tier National Championship contender. By the end of the year, they didn't even make the College Football Playoff.
Clemson put together a 7-6 season. To say that the campaign was a disappointment would be a major understatement.
With that being said, Swinney and company are hoping to get back on track in 2026. The Tigers have the talent to get back to winning. But, there are many who expect another disappointing season from the Clemson football team.
Paul Finebaum, one of the most polarizing college football analysts in the business, has revealed his opinion about what to expect from the Tigers. His prediction isn't one that Clemson fans are going to like.
"I think he'll have a winning season," Finebaum said. "I think another good 8-4 season for Dabo."
At the end of the day, the Tigers would be improving from last season with an 8-4 record. However, it would not be the kind of improvement that Swinney and company are hoping to produce.
Swinney is also entering the upcoming season with questions surrounding him about the future. If he can't get Clemson back on track, could the program consider moving on from him? There are many who think that he is on the hot seat.
Hopefully, the Tigers are able to put this prediction to shame. Clemson has quite a few questions that need to be answered, especially at the quarterback position with Cade Klubnik now in the NFL. But, Swinney is an elite coach and will be tasked with figuring those questions out.
It will be interesting to see whether or not the Tigers can get back to being a championship contender.
Whether or not Swinney is on the hot seat right now remains to be seen. If Clemson struggles once again this season, those rumblings will grow much louder.
Finebaum isn't expecting a big turnaround for the Tigers, but now it is on the team to prove him wrong.
