Former Clemson Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik received a major take from Skip Bayless.
Former Clemson Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik is off to the NFL after the New York Jets selected him in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Ahead of the 2025 season, Klubnik was projected to be a first-round pick, but he and the Tigers had a disappointing season, leading to his draft stock dropping.
However, he is still presented with an opportunity on the Jets, with Geno Smith as the starter and Brady Cook and Bailey Zappe as the other two backups.
Cook and Zappe haven't been standout players, while Smith is coming off a bad season, giving Klubnik a chance to start at some point in the 2026 season.
"I see a little Bo Nix in him," Skip Bayless said. "They're cut from the same cloth to me, just a little bit...they're both 6-foot-2. Bo's a little stouter, like a little thicker maybe...But listen, Cade Klubnik throws it pretty well. I mean, I would say his arm is above average. I'm not going to say it's Justin Herbert, but it always looked pretty good to me."
This is major praise from Bayless as Nix has established himself as a quality quarterback in the NFL, leading the Denver Broncos to the AFC Championship game.
Klubnik showed a ton of potential during his time at Clemson. He didn't play much in his freshman season, completing 61 percent of his passes for 697 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. Klubnik also rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns.
Jeff Blake-Imagn ImagesIn his sophomore campaign, he completed 63.9 percent of his passes for 2,844 yards, 19 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He added 182 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
Klubnik's junior season was a breakout campaign, completing 63.4 of his passes for 3,639 yards, 36 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He rushed for 463 yards and seven touchdowns.
However, in his senior season, his numbers dipped, as he completed 65.6 percent of his passes for 2,943 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Klubnik rushed for 94 yards and four touchdowns.
Despite a down year, Klubnik still has upside for the Jets, and Bayless is one of those people who believe in him.
